James B. Drew was born May 7th, 1939 to H.P and Elze Drew in Eudora Arkansas. He was the eldest of 3 sons. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army. Shortly after his discharge, he moved to Las Vegas where he met and married the love of his life Barbara. James was a devoted family man and a hard worker. He was employed at the Test Site for 10 years and later made a career as a bartender at the Tropicana Hotel for 36 years until he retired. James was a dedicated member of Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in the F.N. Addison kitchen pantry, as well as being a familiar fixture at the Community Outreach giveaways every November. James had a wonderful spirit and an easy smile. He loved his wife and kids, the Chicago Bears and Cubs, his red Cadillacs, and coming to all of the family bar-b-ques and beating everyone in dominos. He will truly, truly be missed.
James leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Barbara Drew, five sons; James Drew Jr. of Eudora, Arkansas, Ricky, Kenneth, Gregory and Maurice Drew all of Las Vegas, Nevada, his beautiful Daughter-in-Law, Dedra(Gregory), his two brothers; Hamp (Mary) Drew of San Antonio, TX and Robert Drew Sr. of Eudora, Arkansas; his lovely grandkids, Kelsee Drew and Solomon Drew (his two very special ones), James III, Raven, Ashley, Breona, Brandon, and a host of other relatives, friends and co-workers.
