Jade Alexandra Rios, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on March 31st, 2024 in her hometown of Las Vegas. She was born on May 10th, 1988 to her loving parents Raul Rios and Shelley Thomson Rios.
Jade leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her sisters Karisa Garcia, Belinda Pau, Ashley Nowland, and Autumn Hernandez; brothers Hayden Rios and Chad Thomson; as well as her father Raul Rios; Mother Shelley Thomson Rios; and stepmother Karen Rios.
From the very beginning of Jade's life in Las Vegas, it was clear that she possessed an extraordinary spirit. Her journey began at Liberty High School where she excelled academically while also making lasting friendships with classmates who would become lifelong companions. After graduating from high school, Jade pursued higher education at CSN where she obtained an Associate’s degree in Medical Assistance.
Her dedication to helping others led her to work as a medical assistant for Anthem Care More while also dedicating herself part-time to Nurse Core. Throughout her career in the healthcare industry, Jade consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment and professionalism which earned accolades from former employers. Notably recognized for her exceptional work ethic and contributions within the field of medicine - including being awarded Star Administration working for Optum - Jade's impact extended far beyond the workplace.
She was honored as Employee of the Month four times during her tenure at Southwest Medical Center – a testament not only to her professional excellence but also to the warmth and kindness she shared with patients and colleagues alike.
In addition to these remarkable achievements in health care administration, Jade touched countless lives through acts of kindness both big and small. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she generously offered support whenever it was needed most.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude towards Patricia Salazar & Chelsea Veltri – dear friends whose unwavering support brought comfort during difficult times – along with the dedicated nurses at Mountain View Hospital & Southern Hills Hospital whose compassionate care provided solace when it mattered most.
Jade’s passing has left an indelible void within our hearts that can never be filled. While we mourn this immeasurable loss today we find solace knowing that memories of Jade’s infectious laughter and smile warm our spirits even now.
May we honor Jade’s memory by carrying forward the light she brought into our lives: may we strive for empathy toward others just like she did every day.

A funeral service will occur Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. A committal service will occur Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
