She was the eldest child born to Carmen and Claudio Silva. Inez was born on February 17, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA. She was two years old when she moved and was raised in Las Vegas, NV. Inez graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1956.
She met the love of her life, John, and they were married on February 2, 1957. She was a housewife and a Mother of two daughters. She worked for the Bank of Las Vegas in the 1960’s, when the City was still growing. She was employed by the State of Nevada as a switchboard operator for the Food Stamp Program until she retired.
She loved the cook, especially Gesados (Mexican stew). She enjoyed making her famous chili. When she made it, she was quick to share it with our neighbors. Then the neighborhood would start to request it, which made her happy. Also at family parties she was known to bring her “Famous Cherries Jubilee”. Through the years, Inez, helped many family members when they were struggling or had no place to go. She opened up her heart and home, even with having a new family of her own, she never hesitated to help them to the infinity degree. As time passed, they seemed to have forgotten these times, which left a hole in her heart. But she found solace knowing they got on their feet and became successful in their own life.
