Hugh Daniel Borland (best known as "Dan" to those close to him) 87, left this world April 10, 2020 in Henderson, Nevada. We know, he will continue his never ending work promoting good will for all people…from a much higher elevation. The Lord be with him.
Dan was born June 6, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1952, Dan joined the military, where he served as an MP in the Korean War. After serving our country, he married his first love, Patricia Ann. It all began in Chicago proper. Dan and Pat found their homestead and settled down in Arlington Heights, Illinois. There, they lovingly raised a growing family. We, their children, are extremely thankful for that. We all flourished and shared the greatest family, friends and neighbors as well as the most valuable life experiences one could wish for. We take pride in our time together, the many who shared with us and our long term residency. Then, life changed, we adapted and family separation was accepted as the norm. The family remained close knit, in spite of the distance.
Dan began and concluded his career at Fel Pro Inc. in Skokie, Illinois. During his 45 years of employment, he was involved in decision making and business entity shaping. We are quite proud that he had a hand in helping Fel Pro achieve the status of "the best in the land" and one of the most respected, family oriented companies in the business industry. Dan retired as Vice President of Customer Relations.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Ann, who was taken from us; losing her fight against cancer. He leaves behind his dedicated, loving wife of 24 years, Anna. Also we, his four children; Daniel (Lee) Borland, Diane (the late Gregory) Lartigue, Liane (Raul) Rosales, and David (Sandra) Borland. He was the revered Papa of 5 grand children, leaving behind, but still guiding from above; sharing his wealth of wisdom and endless compassion for them to pass on to his many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dan retired in Las Vegas, with his godsend of a wife Anna; they lived a beautiful life. We cannot thank Anna enough for all she has done as wife and mother.
So sorry for this to end in a world of fear and uncertainty. Our lives, and many others, will never be the same. A toast to the good old days and new beginnings. Good will never ending; thanks be to God.
Respecting his wishes and the state of the world, no service will be held. If it were possible we would entertain a little “disrespect” for the benefit of all.
Please share your stories, and help us celebrate his life.
p.s. A bit of eulogy with the obituary, the only opportunity… for now.
