HAROLD COHEN Harold Cohen, 91, passed peacefully in his Henderson home, early in the morning of Nov. 1, 2012, after a day spent with family and friends. He has now been reunited with his wife, of 69 years, Edith, and his many, many friends from his 20-year career with the New York Police Department. Harold served as Shomrim president in 1965. As a first grade detective, his experiences supplied him with endless stories that he proudly shared with friends and family. Harold was known as "Dad" to daughters, Barbara (Ed) Simms and Myra (Johnny) Cundiff; as advisor, "Pop" was always available to grandchildren, Debbie Bonifazo, Laura (Dan) Pippin, J.B. (Tanisha) Rizzo, Danny Rizzo, Bonnie (Jeremy) Chyle and Alyssa Holdener; in addition, he was "Papa" to great-grandchildren, Macey, Michael, Dru, Reed, Ben and Eden. He kept track of their lives, whether it was high school dances, seven different sport teams, or preschool activities. Papa knew it all! Visits with this generation delighted him! Though he will be deeply missed, he will always be in our hearts. A private family service was previously held Sunday, Nov. 4, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. If you wish, a donation may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation, 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Arrangements under the direction of King David Memorial Chapel, Las Vegas, NV.
