How do you sum up a life like Glenn’s? In 58 years he has been a great friend, mentor, boss, father in law, father, papa, and husband. No one is ever ready to say goodbye to their loved one, and this couldn’t more true in Glenn’s case. It didn’t matter when or what you needed Glenn would be sure to help in any way he could. He guided countless people during his career and enjoyed watching those same people succeed. He was passionate about his work, and enjoyed teaching more than any other part of his time at the gas company.
The only thing he was more passionate about than natural gas was his family. Marrying his wife and staying married for 37 years was one of his greatest joys. He would always say that marriage takes work, but when you stick around the greater life becomes. His favorite time with his family was dinner time. Everyone would sit around the table, talk about our days, laugh, joke, debate, and be together. It was a tradition that carried on as his children grew into adults.
As a father, there aren’t many great ones like him out there. He fiercely defended his children and loved both of them with his whole heart. Whether it was showing up every time to sporting events, being a shoulder to cry on, or driving around town late at night talking about life, the future, and everything in between, he gave himself entirely to his children.
According to his grandson, Lionel, he always loved him, always had his back, and bought him everything he ever wanted. Becoming a grandfather only amplified the love he showed to his children. Glenn was a beloved uncle and brother as well. He has been described as “the rock” of the family. Always there to lean on and rely on. He accepted everyone for who they were and loved them no matter the circumstances.
The legacy he leaves is one of compassion, strength, and love. God took one of the best.
