On Monday, April 7, 2014, George Monzo passed peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and took pride in everything his children and grandchildren and never missed a chance to tell them so. Not wanting to lose touch with his family or technology, George would FaceTime with his grandchildren who lived further away and even with his two infant great-grandchildren who he thought the world of. The friendships he built throughout his life meant so much to him as he grew older and he always made sure to keep in contact with those he held dear. Besides countless friends and colleagues whose lives George touched, he is survived by his wife, Joyce; sisters Snookie and Judy; children Bobbi, Mike and Charlotte; his grandchildren Brandon, Tiffanie, Chistopher, Michael, Daniel, Chelsea, Bryon, Shane, Brett and Tawni; and his two great-grandchildren Ryder and Emily.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:40pm in the chapel at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV with a memorial immediately to follow at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, NV. Please contact Dan Cryer at [email protected] or 702-406-5685 if you would like to join in celebrating this beautiful life.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, his family requests a donation be made in George’s name to The Wounded Warrior Project. George was proud of the time he spent in service of his country and donated to WWP, which offers services and care, not only to wounded vets, but their family and caregivers as well.
