He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Foster L. Clark IV and his wife Keri; daughter, Kelly Owsley and her husband William; two grandchildren, Olivia and Luke Owsley; two loving brothers, Mark Clark and Howard Clark; a wonderful first cousin Buddy Roy Carter; and best friend, Fred Conn.
Foster was born in Birmingham, Alabama in November of 1947, the first son of Margery Clark and Foster L. Clark Jr. His grammar school years were spent in Birmingham, Alabama, however; his family moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he graduated from Huntsville High School with the class of 1965.
Foster attended college classes until he enlisted in the United States Navy in July of 1967. Stationed in Long Beach, California, he served as a radarman on three destroyers (USS Higbee, USS Sterett, and USS John Paul Jones).
Upon completion of his military service, Foster resumed his studies at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. While at the University, Foster met his future wife, Nancy. They were married in August of 1972. Foster received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Business Administration in December of 1972.
After college graduation, the couple moved to Huntsville, Alabama to begin their family life. A son, Foster, was born in 1976 and a daughter, Kelly, followed in 1977.
Foster pursued a career in real estate, receiving a broker’s license, the Senior Residential Appraiser Designation, and becoming a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI). In 1981, Foster accepted an appraisal of real estate position with a bank in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two years later, he opened his own real estate appraisal firm. The Clark Companies Ltd. handled both residential and commercial assignments. Foster loved having his own business and was passionate about appraising real estate.
Retiring in 2011, Foster spent his last years devoted to his family. He adored his two grandchildren, Luke and Olivia. He rekindled his love for reading and enjoyed watching sports, especially Bama football. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We will all meet again, but until then he will be missed. We love you Foster! Roll Tide!
