Gene was born on October 19th, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. After a 30+ year career educating High School math students, he and wife Marylyn relocated to Las Vegas. While teaching was his profession, he was most proud of serving as a Catholic Deacon for 49 years primarily in Plymouth, MI and Henderson, NV.
Among his accomplishments, Eugene earned a Doctorate of Theology from Notre Dame University, was a past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus in Detroit, was Executive Assistant to Bishop Kevin Britt (Detroit) and more recently was a part time chaplain for 10 years at Dignity Health Hospitals.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Marylyn, his children Michael (Davita), Stasey Field (John) and granddaughter Skylyr Field, all of Las Vegas. He is also survived by sister Laura Kresmin (Nicolas DeNicolais), brother Mitchell (Kathleen) and step-grandchildren David Pollard and Imari Pollard.
Eugene was preceded in death by son Lawrence (1986), parents Adam and Marianne, and brothers Rudolph and Steven.
A visitation for Eugene will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
The funeral service is Friday, December 30, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Community, 130 N Pecos Rd, Henderson, NV 89074. A committal service will occur Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
