Esther Knopp, 91, Las Vegas, passed away April 3, 2012. She was born Sept. 19, 1920 in Hague, N.D. to August and Anna Maria (Wiest) Hieb, the third of 11 children. The family moved later from North Dakota to Idaho, where Esther met and married Edward Knopp, April 4, 1943. They lived in Idaho, raised their family, and were engaged in the farming business. In 1986, they moved to Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; a son, Randy Knopp; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by three children, CleAnne (Ken) Gilman, Garland and Brian Knopp, all of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Martha Reichert, Etta Bakara, Hildegard Holy, Ella Wall, and Betty Guthrie. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, April 6. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
