To the Buono Family,

We are saddened to hear the news of Eleanor's passing. Her kind heart and warm smile will be missed! There are so many fond memories that we have shared over the years that we will always cherish. She was one-of-kind! Sorry we can't be there to support you in your time of sorrow. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I wish I could be there to help you celebrate your mother's life.  She was an important part of my childhood.  She was always kind and caring.  Love to you all.

To the entire Buono Family,

On behalf of the entire Brickner Family, I wish to offer our deepest, heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all of you.

I loved Eleanor like she was my own Mother. Being one of Phil's best friends and knowing the Buono Family since I was 9 years old, I had the honor and pleasure of hanging out at the Buono household and LOVING Eleanor's "red stew" 

Claire would make her Mother's "red stew", especially for me (at my request) and for everyone else, on special holiday, birthday and Post office parties at her condo. I must say that Claire inherited her Mother's skill and talent in the kitchen and her "red stew" was delicious.   

I was one of the members of Phil's Rock & Roll "Garage" band, The System, who had many band practices in the Buono garage. Those days will always be some of my best memories growing up.

The Brickner and Buono Families both had 7 children and we only lived four blocks from each other, so we all grew up together attending Leland Street Elementary School, Dana Junior High School and San Pedro High School.

Heaven is a much warmer, better, kinder and LOVING place with the addition of their newest Angel, Eleanor Jeanette Buono.

Rest In Peace to my Second Mother.

I will miss you dearly.

Eleanor was the quintessential Pedro Mom - always with an open door to keep us all safe, warm and fed. Though we miss her dearly, her love and legacy still carries on through her family and friends. God bless.
