Edward Anthony Rivera

Edward A. Rivera, 59, of Las Vegas, passed away on January 1, 2018. He was born February 15, 1958 to Eduardo and Consuelo Badillo Rivera, in Las Vegas NV. Edward served as a Sous Chef at the MGM Hotel in the 1980s and later went back to school and changed careers. He served as a Human Resource Consultant both as a federal government employee and contractor. He was instrumental in hiring personnel for TSA at many major airports after 9/11. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, received his BSBA from UNLV and received his Master’s Degree in Finance and Economics from Strayer University . Edward was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Sara Rivera Schroerlucke and Virginia “Ginny” Rivera Gaige; brother-in-laws, Don Schroerlucke, Jack Gaige, and three nephews, Robert and Michael Gaige and David Schroerlucke. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Palm Mortuary, 1325 North Main, Las Vegas NV 89101. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Bishop Gorman High School Chapel, 5959 South Hualapai Way, Las Vegas, NV 89148. Interment will be a private function with immediate family only.
