Edgar enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and served 3 years in the European Theatre of Operations. He then worked for the Civil Service and received a Distinguished Service Award. While working, Edgar attended St. Philips College and San Antonio Jr. College. Edgar retired from the Civil Service at Kelley Air Force Base in 1979 with 31 years of service.
Edgar was a Life Member of the NAACP, and an active member of both Saint Andrew’s Cross and All Saints Episcopal Church in Las Vegas, NV.
In 1995 he married Marguerite E. Brady and they relocated to Las Vegas, NV. As a result of this union, he leaves to mourn: wife, Margeurite; 5 stepchildren, Milinda (Louie) Walker and Rose Mary Brady of Denver, CO, Emanuel (Tonya) Brady of Los Angeles, CA, Brenda Anthony of Las Vegas, NV, and Margo (Cmdr. Greg) deWindt of San Diego, CA; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, family, Oscar and Annie Gordon of San Antonio, TX, and a host of friends.
Services will be Sat. May 6 at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones, 89131, with Visitation from 9am to 10am, and Service at 10am. Burial will follow at Palm Northwest Cemetery.
