Doris C. Morrissette was born on February 2, 1935 at Woonsocket Hospital in Woonsocket Rhode Island. Her parents were Louis and Cecilia Lataille. Doris was raised in Woonsocket Rhode Island. Even as a child, Doris had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around her. She was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. She could not help but capture everyone’s attention. She was definitely a little bit of a show off, but in doing so, she succeeded in entertaining her entire family. Doris was raised with three siblings, her brothers Louis and Eugene and sister Irene. On April 23, 1955 Doris exchanged wedding vows with Henry Morrissette at Sacred Heart Church of Woonsocket Rhode Island. She tried hard not to impose on her spouse. She was always sensitive to other people’s feelings, and that was especially true in marriage. Perhaps the reason Doris related so well to children was the fact that she never really completely grew up herself. The ability to be just a “kid at heart” helped her in raising her own children. Doris was blessed with three children two sons Alan and Dennis and daughter Darlene. She were also blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Vested with a deep concern for spiritual development, Doris recognized that her faith was important to her throughout her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church for 26 years. Doris passed away on March 13, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada from cancer and heart problems. She is survived by her husband Henry, her daughter Darlene, son-in-law David, two brothers Luis and Eugene, a sister Irene, six grandchildren, Amanda, AJ, Alysha, Dennis, Brian and Brandon, three great-grandchildren Dillon, Lexi, and Olivia. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary. Doris was laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Northwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
