In 1966, Donna met Bruce Karli in Hawthorne, California. Bruce waited no time before jokingly giving her the nickname Okee. She embraced her new name and was soon known as Okee to all. She and Bruce went on to have two children, Brenda and Donald Karli, whom she loved dearly.
Donna was a jack of all trades and had passion in anything she put her mind to, she had several careers in her life: a bus driver, grocery store clerk, and, her favorite, an electrician apprentice alongside her beloved husband. They named themselves “Jack and Jill Electric.” Aside from work, Donna spent her free time putting her creative mind to work. Painting, sewing, woodworking, dog training, gardening, and entertaining were some of her favorite hobbies.
She had so much passion in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother and welcomed all into her family with loving arms. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bruce Karli, children, Brenda and Donald, grandchildren, Karlie, Sydney, Erin, Dylan, and Breanna, and her six great grandchildren.
Donna was a caring and loving soul who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. Taken too soon, her family hopes she is soaking up the sunshine from above.
