Dennis Roy Hanson was the son of he late Edwin & Dorothy Hanson. He was born in Vancouver Canada on June 6, 1943. As a child growing up they as a family had lots of adventures from their living on the farm to living in camp grounds to get buy. The stories he would tell us kids were amazing. The family moved to California when he was young. He met his love when they moved to La Puente.
While in what today we would call middle school (7th grade) he met the love of his life by pulling on her pony tail in class to get her attention. When Claudine turned around and saw his beautiful broad shoulders and his Adam’s apple it was love at first sight for the both of them.
On April 28, 1961 they married and started a family with Dennis Bruce then Allen Roy and finally Denise Ann. As the family grew up in California until he moved the family to Las Vegas in 1972.
Dennis was a true family man. As a family we spent time growing up in the desert off roading, racing jeeps and riding motorcycles every Easter and Thanksgiving squeezing in more times when able to.
When we were not in the dessert we would be on Lake Mead boating and water skiing with family and friends. He always made time for us even if it was staying home and swimming and teaching the neighborhood kids to swim while Claudine always made sure everyone was full and happy.
He enjoyed music while dancing around the house and the bar shooting pool and whiskey.
In his later years we spent most of our time at the river house on the Colorado River enjoying the river boating and jet skiing with all our family and extended family building memories that will last everyone a life time.
Dennis started off working as a sheet metal worker belonging to the Sheet Metal Union Local 88 for many years until he started his own Air Conditioning Business in 1982. Working from his garage to becoming on of Las Vegas’s top HVAC businesses D & H Air Conditioning & Sheet Metal.
He was an entrepreneur in his own right also growing his real estate portfolio.
His wonderful full life will always be remembered by all his family and friends. He looked out for his family in life and will continue to do so in death. He was loved by many.
He leaves behind his wife Claudine Hanson, Allen Hanson (son) wife Erika, Denise Hanson-Stewart (husband) John, Grandson’s James Hanson, Dennis Hanson, Jason Hanson, Lee Hanson, Allan Hanson and Auston Hanson. One granddaughter Colleen Wilkinson. Great Grand children: Daisy Marzolla, Clara and Willow Wilkenson, Reagan & Taylor Lewis, Ethan, Cameron, Gage, Knox, Hannah and Jace Hanson and four great great grandchildren.
