Darlene DeGroat Chambliss

Darlene Chamliss 66, a Laundry Department Supervisor was born in Middleton, NY on September 20, 1949. On September 29, 2015 Darlene departed this life and leaves to cherish her long life husband and friend Robert C. Chambliss; daughter Leslie Chambliss of New York; son Wendel Chambliss of Las Vegas and daughter Tonia Chambliss of Las Vegas. She also leaves her grandchildren; Brandon, Courtney, Paulette, Alexsis, Joanna and Taverick; great-grandchildren; Avianna, Annaya, Aria, Layla, Jimmy AKA “Fat-Fat”. Darlene also leaves a sister Brenda of New York and a brother Kim of New York.

As a young adult Darlene married Robert Cephus Chambliss and together they had three beautiful children and resided in California, Georgia, Hawaii and Nevada. Darlene worked at William B Ririe Hospital in Ely, Nevada for 12 years where she enjoyed talking and listened to people. She was preparing to retire in December on 2015.

She loved to cook, especially chicken, and to listen and dance to old school music, like Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass and Many More. In her spare time, her favorite thing to do was to play bingo. She enjoyed calling Friends and Family on the weekends and spent hours talking to them on the phone. As a young adult she loved to take care of children all day long.
