Mr. Delbert "Eugene" Martin, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. He was born July 18 1942, the second of four children, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Adelbert Nelson Martin and Mary Harding Martin. Eugene married Paula Jean Smith July 3, 1964, in the Los Angeles, LDS Temple. Eugene was a longtime resident of Las Vegas, having moved there in 1979. An attorney, Eugene retired from the Clark County Public Defender's Office in 2004. After retiring, he served as a pro tem justice of the peace throughout Clark County. Eugene, aka KC7DB, was an avid amateur (ham) radio operator. Eugene served his country in the U.S. Army (1966-1968). He loved to travel with Paula, especially to visit family. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. Eugene and Paula were involved with the Saints Unified Voices Choir, led by Gladys Knight, from 2003 to 2013. Eugene was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Martin. Eugene is survived by his wife, Paula; and their five children, Liesl, Daryl, Richard, Jason and Valerie (nee Martin) Royal. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mackenzee Martin, Samantha Martin, Emily (nee Martin) Parker, Dallin Martin, Blake Martin, Laura Martin and Sophie Royal; and by two brothers, Lynn Martin and Van Martin.
