He was born on April 24, 1934 in Shanghai, China to Father Juiling Chen and Mother Yeung Ha Kwan. Second oldest of 6 children. He met and married his wife of almost 70 years Angela in the early 50’s.
Chris or C.K., as he was known to everyone, immigrated to the United States in 1964 where he settled in San Francisco after leaving Hong Kong. There he took on 2 jobs while going to school at the same time for his degree in Food and Beverage. He began working for the Hilton Hotels in 1965 at the Oakland Hilton, then the San Francisco Hilton, the Las Vegas Hilton and finally finishing his 20 year career in Reno.
Throughout his career with the Hilton Hotels, Chris/C.K. was also an entrepreneur, opening a restaurant in the Drake Wilshire Hotel (now named Taj Campton Hotel), he started with the Charcoal Room Steak House, which later turned into the Crystal Palace Restaurant where the first Peking Duck was served the in San Francisco Bay Area. After he started working with the Las Vegas Hilton, he opened the Khan’s Mongolian Bar and Grill across from the UNLV.
Chris/C.K. was always looking for ways to give his family a better life. Always a Happy Person, Chris loved good food and socializing. He is known to be Most Generous and always Helpful to all his Friends, especially his three sons. He was also very much a family man and a loving husband, Chris and his wife of almost 70 years spent all of those 70 years together, always loving and taking care of each other.
He is survived by his wife Angela, Sons Norman, Michael, and Henry, Grandchildren Aaron, Jonathan, Jasmine and Catherine.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon, Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Palm Jones Mortuary.
