Christine Z. Burton

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on September 9, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church located at 6350 N Fort Apache Rd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89149, with Father Steve Hoffer officiating.

Arrangements are by Palm Northwest Mortuary. A celebration of life is to follow after funeral services.

Christine was born in Fort Ord to Anthony Contreras Zubiate and Walda Acencio Zubiate on January 6, 1951. She went to school in Azusa, California and was a high school graduate. She worked as a cosmetologist for Fantastic Sam’s, for 30 years. She was a strong willed and fiercely independent single mother that showed many people there was a life to live after raising children. She was a faithful catholic that spiritually touched many people lives with the word of God.

Christine is preceded in death by her father Anthony C. Zubiate, mother Walda A. Zubiate, brothers and sisters John Robert, Louis, Anna Marie, Monica Zubiate, niece Michelle S Majors, nephew Alan O Mace. Christine is survived by her three children Elena Pena, Antionette K. Zubiate, Matthew D. Baker-Zubiate, her brothers and sister Anthony A. Zubiate Jr., David Zubiate, Joseph E. Zubiate, Lydia Z. Ochoa, Ramona S. Majors, grandchildren Nathaniel Peña, Michael Peña, Miya Peña, Alysia Amplayo, Anthony Amplayo, Alondra Martinez, Adrian Martinez, Armani Martinez, Armando Martinez, and Angel Martinez , also 25 nieces and nephew and 88 grandnieces and nephew, and 5 great grand nieces and nephews.

The family of Christine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Southwest Medical Optum Hospice care team also nurses Jen and Bertha.
