Bruce was born December 3, 1943 in Carbondale, PA to Laverna Mae Robinson Vail and Herbert W Vail, both deceased.
Bruce graduated from Lakeland High School in 1961 and then served in the US Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. Upon his discharge, he met and married Susan Raban in 1967 in Pennsylvania and had 54 years of marriage. They lived in Jermyn, PA before moving to Las Vegas in 2004. Prior to his retirement, he worked at General Dynamics Land Systems in Eynon, PA for 30 years.
For those who knew and loved him, knew him for his famous joke telling and root beer barrels. He had a passion for cars, love of his country and devotion to his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Susan, of Las Vegas, NV and their 2 children; Michelle Walker of Bradenton, FL and Darrin Vail of Las Vegas, NV. He also is survived by his 2 grandchildren Spenser Walker and Austin Walker, both of Lake Wylie, SC. His 6 siblings were also very important to him and he is survived by Lana Bossick, Carbondale, PA; Diane Beres of Lebanon, NJ; Kathleen McGonigle of Wallingford, PA; Linda Tutwiler of Alva, OK; Martin Vail of Carbondale, PA and Cindy McGrath of Riverside, CA. He also has many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of life is going to be held at Palms Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 W Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV on Friday, August 13th at 9 am. There will be reception to follow immediately after.
