Brian attended school in Heyburn and Rupert; graduating from Minico High School. In 1982, he moved to Porterville, California and lived in the Cobbs Family Group home, where he worked through the Porterville Shelter Workshop for 27 years.
Experiencing ill health, he moved to Las Vegas to be with his family in 2010. Brian was a sweet soul who loved his family dearly, and treasured every moment spent with them. One of the highlights of his life was to attend family reunions. He was keenly interested in politics and could tell you just about anything that was happening around the world.
For many years, he participated in the Special Olympics and won numerous medals. He enjoyed fishing, camping, movies, and going out to eat.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Randy A. Knopp.
He is survived by his sister CleAnne (Ken) Gilman and brother Garland Knopp of Las Vegas; nine nieces and nephews; and eleven great nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Community Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Palm Memorial Chapel in Las Vegas with Dr. Mark Wickstrom officiating.
