Barbara F. Sasso 78, of Las Vegas, passed away August 7, 2014, from complications following brain surgery. She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Louis Gene Sasso. Barbara was born in Rushville, Nebraska and raised in Orem, Utah. She attended Brigham Young University then moved to Las Vegas in 1959. She worked eight years at the Nevada test site. She then became the executive secretary for James Cashman. This was an exciting time in her life. She was involved in all aspects of Las Vegas even writing script for the Helldorado Parade. Barbara moved to Alaska during the construction of the Alaska Pipeline. After two years she moved back to the sun and warmth of Las Vegas. She sold real estate and owned a decorating business. In 1980 she went to work for EG&G and retired from there in 1996. Since then she has traveled the world extensively, sometimes taking a trip every month. Fun for Barbara was going dancing. She loved to dance. She is survived by her beloved daughter Cheryl Orr; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Barbara was a beautiful person with a vivacious personality. She will be so missed by all of her friends and family. Services will be held at Christ the King Church, 4925 So. Torrey Pines Dr. (Tropicana and Torrey Pines Dr.) on August 14, 2014 at 1:00pm. There will be private graveside services. Barbara gave to many charities. One of her favorites was the ASPCA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to them or to your favorite charity.
