Dr. Albert C. Merkin

DR. ALBERT MERKIN Albert Charles Merkin, 87, a retired pediatrician and allergist, passed away on October 1, 2011. He was born on September 4, 1924 in Chicago. He was a 55-year resident of Las Vegas. Before moving to the city, he graduated from the University of Illinois and then served as a Captain in the U. S. Air Force. He later became the State Chairman of the American Academy of Pediatrics and worked as the National Secretary of the American College of Allergy. He was preceded in death by his wife and daughter. Albert is survived by his children, Ellen and Joseph Merkin; grandsons, Aaron and Seth; and granddaughters, Sara and Jennifer. Services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, October 5, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 East Eldorado Lane. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Audrey Merkin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Temple Beth Shalom.
