Adrienne was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 1, 1968 to Trudi (Green) Nix and Jerry Nix. She spent her early years in Grand Canyon, Arizona, Kearny, Arizona, and Yuma, Arizona before moving to Las Vegas in 1982.
After graduating from Valley High School in 1986, Adrienne began her professional career with Bank of America, where she was an administrative assistant in several different departments for 23 years before accepting an offer in 2010 from MGM Resorts International in their Treasury Department, working her way up to Senior Treasury Manager.
Adrienne (or “Adri” or “Adge”) struggled with renal failure issues from the age of 12. She suffered complete renal failure at the age of 21, and underwent her first kidney transplant, plus two subsequent transplants in 2003 and 2014. She was a tough fighter, and bravely fought through theses transplants and the health issues related to kidney failure, always wearing her happy face. In spite of her health, she lived life to its fullest.
Through her life, Adrienne enjoyed her greatest moments surrounded by family and friends. She wasn’t always the “life of the party”, but she always made sure to keep the party lively.
In addition to her family, Adrienne was passionately involved in animal rescue, as she frequently volunteered her time to The Animal Foundation, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
Adrienne is survived by her longtime partner and soulmate, Carlos Gretter, moms Trudi Hallman and Nan Nix, dads Jerry Nix and Walt Hallman, sisters Tori Argiro (Chris), Kira Montague (Brandon), brother Mike “Scooter” Nix (Tracie), and nephews Jonathan, Riley and Blake, plus uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws, all of which she viewed as immediate family.
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Adrienne for Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Palm Southwest Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary – bestfriends.org.
