Whelan, Jr. William Martin, 66 of Treasure Island, Florida. Passed away to be with the Lord November 16, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He moved to Florida from Maryland 30 years ago. Bill worked for BCH Mechanical for 25 years before retiring in 2009. He touched so many lives in so many ways, one that was well respected not only in the work field but in his everyday life and friends. He showed great strength and courage to his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 27 years, Teresa. Son, Chad Whelan (Samantha); daughter, Tiffany (Kris) Tinsley. Grandchildren, Dylan Tinsley, Baylie (Zach) Tinsley, Tanner Tinsley; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Witten and Leia. One sister, Deirdre (John) Bartels and one brother Paul Whelan. Two sisters–in-law, Sue Rengert (Tammy McDade), Susan Schaeffer; three brothers-in-law Timothy (Cathy) Rengert, Thomas (Kami) Rengert. David Rengert (deceased) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his mother and father, William and Lucille Whelan, daughter Dawn Whelan and sister Lucinda Whelan.
The family will receive friends and family at Serenity Funeral Home with funeral services following at Serenity Gardens. Viewing will be 12 – 2p.m., funeral at 2:30.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Assoc. of America.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to the MICU department oat Palms of Pasadena Hospital. The staff went over and above to meet Bill’s and our family’s needs. A special thank you for such great and dedicated service from the office of Dr. Mohammed Ali, the doctors and staff again has always watched out for Bill’s needs. We couldn’t have done it without your office.
