SCHINDLER, Thomas Edward, 89 of Largo, FL passed away on January 7, 2015. Tom was born on September 1, 1925 in Clark, New Jersey to the late Leon & Elizabeth (Tuthill) Schindler. He lived on a farm until he joined the US Navy in 1942. Tom served during WWII where he earned several medals including two Purple Hearts, the American Campaign Medal for WWII, a Good Conduct and Prisoner of War medals. After leaving the Navy in 1946 he began a long and fruitful career at New Jersey Bell from which he retired in 1990. Tom was also a Captain of the Clark Volunteer Fire Department for many years. His favorite past time was spending time with his family on their many wonderful vacations to Walt Disney World. Tom married the love of his life Agnes (Gallagher) Schindler on July 27, 1968 and she survives. Also surviving are his children, a son Thomas E Schindler, Jr. & daughter Kelly (Jason) Seltzer and five grandchildren Amber, Daniel, Riley, Hannah and Liam. Tom was predeceased by his two brothers Richard and Harry Schindler. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 10 am at St Jerome Catholic Church in Largo.
