Thompson, Robert M. Jr. 92, a life long resident of Clearwater, died June 18, 2012 at his home. He was a graduate of Clearwater High School and Georgia Tech Institute of Technology. Robert served in the US Navy during WW II and helped pioneer the shopping industry in Florida upon his return from the war. He was owner of Thompson Construction, RM Thompson Developers and Consultants Inc. He served as Commodore of the Carlouel Yacht Club, Past President of Carlouel Corporation and was a member of the Privateers. Survivors include sons, R.M. Thompson III, Christopher Thompson, Thomas Allen II; daughters, Michele Thompson, Sherry Thompson and Kimberly Thompson O'Conner and 4 grandchildren.
