Patricia M Kane Gloeckner

Patricia M. Gloeckner, age 90, of Seminole, passed away March 7, 2015. She was born on October 30, 1924 in Ridgewood Queens, New York to parents Josephine Marie Haspel and James Patrick Kane. Pat married the late John Robert Hansen in 1947 and was a beloved Mother of five children: the late John Patrick Hansen, formerly of Pahrump, Nevada, Karen Jodal (and husband Bob) of Seminole, Florida; Robert Hansen of Mastic Beach, New York; John Peter Hansen (and wife Jeanette) of Selden, New york; and Jeanne Luckner (and husband Tom) of Kings Park, New York. Upon John's passing, she married the late Francis J. Glockner in 1994 and was Step-mother to Geri Eichholz (and husband Bob) of Bluffton, South Carolina and Loretta Pudup (and husband Rich) of Holiday, Florida.

She was a proud Grandmother of 15 Grandchildren: Frank, Candy, John Paul, Angelica, Angelina, Jennifer, James, Peter, Eric, Christopher, Jessica, Jacqueline, Matthew, Cynthia, and Amanda, and Great-Grandmother of 10 Great Grandchildren: Landon, Kayla, Noah, Hannah, Ruth, Zoe, Caitlin, Cadence, Paige, and Isaac.

After raising her five children Pat pursued a dream she had since being a Red Cross Nurse's Aide during WWII. She went back to school and obtained her license as a Registered Nurse. While working as an RN and attending night school for 7 years, she obtained a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from New York University in 1980 at the age of 56.

After retiring to Florida in 1992, Pat served as a Hospice volunteer and an Ombudsman, (visiting Nursing Homes to make sure they were up to par). She was a devout Catholic her entire life and an active member of St. Jerome Church. She served as a member of the Chorale; a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound; and developed a Respite program to help those at home caring for loved ones. She was always devoted to the Blessed Mother, and most recently, she led a Rosary group at Lake Seminole Square where she resided. She had a great love for life and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation hours are scheduled Friday March 13th 2015 from 3 to 7 pm at Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Road in Largo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:00 P.M., March 14th at St Jerome Catholic Church in Largo.
