Margaret (Meg) Ellen Lucas was a Florida native who loved the beach, her family, and her dog. She was born on February 22, 1985 and she passed on September 10, 2020. A Celebration of Meg’s life will be held at McGough Nature Park on Sunday, September 20th at 10am. She is survived by: her parents, Pat and Layne Schoonover and Paul and Joanne Lucas; her sisters and their families, Charla Lucas and Doug Ware, and Hayley and Cameron Livermore and their children Joseph Archer and Poppy Louise; and her pupp-pup, Rufio.
Meg was known for her love of animals, her kind and caring nature, and her ability to quote a line from any movie.
Meg never met a stranger.
Meg lived with the disease of alcoholism. This disease robs those who struggle with it of their goals, dreams, and happiness.
Meg and the family would want others who are bound by this disease to know that if you struggle with alcoholism, or you love someone who struggles with it, there is help and hope.

Below are Meg’s own words, written earlier this year, expressing the hope she had:
“My head dropping.
And my knees to the floor.
I know this World deserves more.
I take a breath.
Think that I can do it all, for sure.
The blindness fills my heart,
My thoughts be still,
and yearn for pure.
So child calm yourself.
There’s grace in knowing your own wealth.
Still,...Let Him Provide.
Let the fear subside.
That deep sigh...
He Knows your heart inside.
So, child.
Calm your soul.
Because right now...
That hole is an endless toll.
The sweetest relief...
Is in the belief...
So Kiss the sky.
Because your deep breath has arrived.
He’s still there.
Let that breath survive.
Don’t let your heart lie.
Because it’s as strong
as the sky is high.”
