Jean was born in Atlantic City, NJ to James and Lucy McCarthy. She met her husband, Philip, at the local roller skating rink when they were 21 and they fell in love, as Phil would say, “they’ve been skating together ever since”, through 67 years of marriage. Together they had four children. They relocated to Pinellas County in 1968 from New Jersey. In Florida they found sunshine, and they made a new home. Jean loved raising her family and watching it grow. She also enjoyed baseball, especially her Phillies and then her Rays.
Jean is survived and remembered by her loving husband, Philip, their children; Phil Stillwell Jr. (Debi), Robert Stillwell (Lynn), Patrick Stillwell (Carol), and Jean Almanza (Peter), nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to an abundance of much-loved, extended family, she is also survived by her sister, Marylou Venella (Dave) and predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Mickey McCarthy, all three have been life-long residents of Runnemede, NJ.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Largo, FL. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
In Jean's words, "Toodaloo!"
