James M. Kissane, age 76, of Seminole, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Jim, son of John and Mollie Kissane, originally from Ireland, was a graduate of East Windsor High School in East Windsor, Connecticut.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Kissane ; Son, James Kissane II (Kelly) of Port Richey, Florida; daughter, Michelle Chacanias of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; 4 beautiful grandchildren, Hunter James Chacanias, Mary Jean Kissane, James Daniel Kissane and Robert David Kissane; 4 Godchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves many great friends in Florida, especially Lake Seminole Square, Connecticut and Massachusetts behind.
Jim's famous saying was "Live for today and plan for tomorrow" and he did that each and every day. Jim worked for the state of Connecticut in various computer related roles while establishing himself in the computer business. He then moved onto the Hartford Board of Education where he became the manager of the Data Processing Department. Next on Jim's career journey was Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq and HP for 22 years, where he held many senior management positions. While at Digital Equipment, he was selected to attend prestigious University of Virginia Darden Management School, where he completed the international management courses. Jim served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Tech Sgt. He was President of the Board of the Wyngate Community in Trinity, Florida and was on the Residence Advisor committee at Lake Seminole Square, an Independent living community in Seminole, Fl. He was also the Treasurer of Lake Seminole Scholarship committee.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4th from 10a.m. to 12p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Fl, 33774. A funeral mass will follow at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 11565 66th Ave N, Seminole, FL 33772 at 1pm. A reception will follow back at Serenity Funeral Home.
