Obituary for Virginia (Wade) Winston

Born, July 7, 1940 in Brantley, AL, Virginia (Wade) Winston of Lansing departed this life to be present with the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Winston; her parents, Willie and Nina Bell Wade; Brother, Willie; Sisters: Mattie, Bertha, Nina, Margaret and Mary.

Virginia loved family and took great pride in raising her children. She was an avid gardener (plant whisperer) and she enjoyed fishing. She saw the value in going out of her way to teach life lessons to all, but especially her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Laura D. Wade; son, John (Annie) Artis, Jr.; grandchildren, Kimatha Wade, Darryl, Darnell and Kayla Taylor of Lansing, MI; Dominique, Patryce, Faith and John Artis III, all of Florida; and seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Mittie (Milton) Mooring and Carolyn “Becky” Wade of Lansing; one brother, Lee Fletcher (Clevester) Pease of Andalusia, AL; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
