He was a veteran of the United States Army, enlisting right out of high school. He worked as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager with Value City Department Stores, and as a Public Safety Officer for Sparrow Hospital for twenty-two years. During his career he mentored many young officers, teaching them to de-escalate situations with kindness and compassion. Jim loved cooking and providing food for others. He had a passion for flying planes and foreign cars, and most of all he loved and cared for his wife and children.
Surviving are his wife of twenty years, Rebecca; children, Nicholas and Emily; mother, Viravan; mother-in-law, Susie; sisters, Panita and Kaisang; brother, Chris (Melody); many close friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; his grandmother and one sister.
A memorial service for Jim will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48917.
