Roger was born on January 29, 1943 in Lansing, the son of Edward and Esther (Tupper) Knickerbocker. Her attended Eastern High School and went onto college to further his education. Roger worked for Consumers Energy, making and creating maps for his colleagues and the company.
Roger's favorite way to pass time was to sit on the front porch or in his truck and just observe the world. He was an excellent father and husband. Roger's main goal in life was to provide for his family, and he did just that, very well in fact. However, you could not ask him to cook a meal, unless you wanted something burnt. Roger loved his wife Yvette's cooking. Roger was a very hard working man. He worked until he could not work anymore. He always put every bit of himself in every task he did.
Roger is survived by his wife of 40+ years, Yvette; his children, Eric Knickerbocker, Brian Knickerbocker, and Danielle Knickerbocker; grandchildren, Laylah, Crystal, and Ashley; six great-grandchildren; and many loving family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Esther Knickerbocker; his daughter, Kathy Knickerbocker; his sisters, Iris Stain and Sharon Cole; and his niece, Denise.
