Robert David Vancleave

Robert was born in Lansing Michigan on February 25, 1959, the son of the late Leon and Mildred (Capps) Vancleave. He was a graduate of Waverly High School, class of 1979. He avidly attended Millett Bible Baptist Church, where Pastor Bullock led Robert to his Lord and Savior. Robert was strong in faith up until the very end.

During High School Robert worked at Montgomery Ward for a few years in co-op learning. He then went on to work at West Saginaw Shop-Rite for many years, eventually over the years becoming known as L&L. Robert will forever be remembered by; his enjoyment hanging out with his friends from work, having pizza while watching wrestling, and loving a cold can of Pepsi.

Robert was a loving brother, son, and uncle.

He is survived by his brother; Richard Vancleave; his two sisters, Loretta Grosser and Laura Vancleave; his nieces, Ann Marie Grosser, and Dawn Roper.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Leon and Mildred Vancleave.

A Visitation for Robert will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes – Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48912, followed by a Funeral Service officiated by Dr. James Green, Pastor of Memorial Baptist Church, at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Delta Center Cemetery.
