Pete was a lifelong Michigan resident living most of his life in Lansing, with a brief time in Grand Ledge when his family moved there in the early ‘60s. He attended St. Michael’s elementary school in Grand Ledge, Colt elementary school on the west side of Lansing, and graduated from Waverly High School in 1974.
Throughout his life Pete was a very creative and artistic person who enjoyed working with his hands and taking time and meticulous care with projects and work. He worked as a graphic artist for the McLean, then Spartan International, design company from the late 1970s into the ‘90s. When his employment there ended he began working for BRP/Triton Industries in Quality Control for their pontoon boat manufacturing where he spent the last 20 years.
Pete’s life was richly blessed with family and friends over the years and though he married late in life, he and Cindy were blessed with their beloved daughter Hannah Ann in 2007. Although their marriage ended Pete and Cindy remained close as good friends and loving parents.
Some of his other life-long passions included music and films—to the extent of designing his own stereo speakers and creating a mini-theater in his home. He also enjoyed spending time in nature, camping and fishing, as well as taking photographs. More recently he especially loved going fishing with his daughter Hannah.
Peter is survived by his daughter: Hannah Parks; siblings: Christine Parks, CSJ, Anita Parks, SC and John (Mary) Parks; niece and nephew: Stephanie (Doug) Lynes and Matt (Molly) Parks; two aunts and an uncle; as well as his former wife and best friend: Cindy Parks. Peter is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Marjorie Parks.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:30pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Tiffany Chapel 3232 W. Saginaw St. Lansing, MI 48917.
