Patricia Marshall of Lansing, age 95, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. Patricia was born in Detroit to Frederick Valentine and Alice (Fitzpatrick) Hauser. She graduated from St. Mary of Redford High School and Detroit Business University. Pat worked as a secretary for Fisher Body. She married Donald Gilbert Marshall at St. Scholastica Church officiated by Rev. Raymond J. Marshall, Don’s brother. Pat and Don had six daughters in Harper Woods, where they lived for 12 years. Pat and Don moved the family to Lansing in 1965. They were active at St. Gerard Parish where the girls attended school.
Pat’s devotion to our Blessed Mother and deep Catholic faith was evident in how she served her family and community. She joined the Queen of Peace Circle where she made lifelong friends, was a Past President of the Guild, expanded the Spring Festival at St. Gerard by adding the raffle and activities for all ages, a member of the Honor Guard for Funeral Masses and founded the Health of the Sick Circle, to fill the need for respite care. Pat served as a volunteer and past President of the Christopher League at St. Lawrence Hospital. She was a buyer for the gift shop at St. Lawrence and a member of the Mary Magdelon League.
Pat never missed an opportunity to celebrate each and every one of her family’s birthdays, sacraments, graduations, weddings, family reunions, as well as holidays. Her most cherished memories were with the family in Leelanau Peninsula. She passed on her love for Lake Michigan to her daughters, son-in-laws, grand and great-grand kids.
She loved gardening, flower arranging, playing piano, sewing, golfing, travel, calligraphy and became an accomplished painter later in life. She enjoyed passing her talents on to her grandchildren.
Pat wrote the genealogy of her maternal grandparent’s, researching back to the 1780’s in Ireland. Her book is in the State of Michigan Library.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Marshall, son in law, Robert Lieder, parents Frederick and Alice Hauser, brothers David, Buddy, Joseph and Robert, parents in law Raymond and Viola Marshall, brother in law Rev. Raymond Marshall and sister in law Mary Rita Marshall.
