Nancy M. (Van Balen) Reyes

Born on June 19, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, to George Van Balen Jr. and Helen Masek, Nancy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and meaningful connections. On March 4, 1978, she married Tito Reyes in Williamston, Michigan. Together, they created a life rich in love and shared experiences until Tito's passing on November 8, 2011.

Nancy was a proud alumna of St. Louis University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Her professional journey led her to serve the community as a disability examiner for the State of Michigan.

A dedicated member of St. John's Student Parish, Nancy found joy in giving back to her community. She volunteered at Sparrow Hospital Gift Shop and selflessly donated blood to the American Red Cross, leaving a lasting impact on those in need.

Nancy's interests were as diverse as her life experiences. From the bustling streets of Chicago to the heart of St. Louis and the serene landscapes of Williamston, MI, Nancy embraced every chapter of her life. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and spending cherished moments with her beloved dogs. She was a familiar face at her children's and grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering on the next generation with unwavering support. Nancy also managed a Christmas tree farm, creating lasting memories for family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her loving children, Bob Nordmann (Teri), Eric Nordmann (Alicia), Matt Nordmann (Sherri), and Andrea Nordmann. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Michael, Melissa, Trey, Tyler, Taya, Alexandra, Ashley, and her three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brother, George Van Balen III. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Nancy M. Reyes will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Tito and embraced by the love of those who went before her.
