Nancy L. Ayers

Nancy was born and raised in Lansing, MI and was a proud graduate of Michigan State University. Before graduating from MSU, she was a talented seamstress and crafted beautiful clothing, a testament to her creativity and love. She also had a small business altering clothes for others while raising a family and excelling in her studies.

However, her true calling was in the classroom, where she dedicated over 25 years of her life to teaching. The majority of which were at Challenger Elementary in Howell. Her passion for education undoubtedly inspired countless students.

Nancy cherished her family above all else. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dog Legend, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her children: Rachel Hewitt, Steven (Summer) Ayers, and Brent (Jennifer) Ayers; grandchildren: Samantha (Karel) Zuidema, Kendra (Derik) Curtis, Aubrie Ayers and Jayce Ayers; siblings: Mary Sherwood and Rhonda Nourse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband: Michael Ayers; and sister: Janet Adamski.

A visitation for Nancy will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 1:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48917.
