She was born on January 3, 1931 to Mark and Thelma McDaniel in Flora, Illinois.
Marilyn committed her life to Christ in Christian baptism in 1939. After graduating from Flora High School, she entered Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1949 and attended there through 1952. She and Ronald Fisher were married on June 8, 1952 at the Flora Christian Church. She joined her husband as the "Lady" of the parsonage in gospel ministries from 1952 to 2002 at Montezuma, Ohio; South Bend, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; and Coldwater, Michigan.
Ronald and Marilyn became a family of four with the arrival of their daughter, Nannette, in 1959, followed by their son, Brian, in 1962.
Marilyn and her husband became Great Lakes Bible College (later Christian College) family in 1972 in Lansing, Michigan, when Ron became a professor of Greek & Bible Theology until 2002. Marilyn was asked to provide the decor and color management of the women's residence and classrooms for the college. She was asked to oversee and train workers for the table settings and stage decorations for the yearly GLCC Women's Banquet at the old Lansing Civic Center each year. She also decorated the tables for the college's annual Madrigal Christmas celebration at the Lansing First Methodist Church.
When Marilyn served with her husband in local congregations, she taught especially in the Nursery and Junior High Departments, pioneering early infant programs of Jesus and the Bible. She directly influenced at least 20 young people to enroll in Bible college and prepare for specialized Christian service. Marilyn made mission trips with her husband to Egypt, France, the Yucatan (2), and Canada (2).
Marilyn is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 71 years, Ron Fisher; her parents, Mark and Thelma McDaniel; and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Lu McDaniel.
