Leslie James Perino was born into life on February 23, 1926 to Ann and Max Perino in Iron, Mountain, Michigan. Les entered eternal life on May 26, 2023. He was blessed with a long, fulfilling life of ministry to God’s people in diverse ways. Les was a gentle man who lived life with kindness, love, gratitude, a sense of humor and a listening heart. His quiet presence touched many who encountered him. Education and titles were not the essential marks to defining Les, but rather kindness and presence to others. Les was deeply loved in life and will always be remembered by his wife of 50 years, Katy Perino, as well as his brother, Frank Perino and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will take place with a memorial Mass on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11am at St. John Catholic Church and Student Center in East Lansing with Father Jerry Ploof as celebrant. Visitation will precede Mass, beginning at 10am. Following the luncheon in the parish hall, inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
