She was born on September 2, 1954, to John Patrick and Constance Anne Moynahan (Culver) who preceded her in death.
Kathy graduated from Waverly High School in 1972 and went on to pursue a degree in Sociology from Morris Harvey College/University of Charleston in 1972. In 2021, Kathy earned her Master of Arts Early Childhood Education Leadership degree from the University of Phoenix.
Kathy's professional career was always focused on the well-being of children. For many years she worked as a Child Protective Services Officer for the Eaton County Friend of the Court, until her passion drove her to become a Preschool Teacher with Head Start CACS and then Lansing School District. She loved her classrooms and the children that made her life full.
Kathy is survived by her loving sons, Daniel Robert Culver and Dustin John-Patrick Moynahan. Daniel and Dustin were with her every step of the way during her year-long journey battling ovarian cancer. Kathy remained positive until the end with her wit as sharp as ever and was an inspiration to us all.
Kathy is also survived by her siblings, Michael (Mary Helen) Moynahan, Kevin (Barbara) Moynahan, Theresa (Michael) Goduto, Patricia (Michael) Glossop and Shannon Sullivan. Kathy had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew who loved their "Aunt Kacky" dearly, as well as her best friend, Melanie Peeler.
Along with her loving parents, preceding Kathy in death were her brothers, Shawn Francis, Brian Timothy and her brother-in-law, Gordon Sullivan.
A visitation for Kathy will be held on Friday April 12, 2024 at 10:00am, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 345 Edwards Street Grand Ledge, Michigan 48837.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy's memory to Ele's Place, 1145 W Oakland Ave., Lansing, MI 48915.
