Karen Sue Griffin

Ever the free spirit, Karen was the epitome of dance like no one’s watching, sing as if you had perfect tune, laugh at every joke (especially if it’s your own), and to love each moment entirely as if it’s your last. A lover of good music and a great bargain, Karen was a generous soul and full of life before she passed from early-onset Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her mother, Grace Boling, her children James Watts, Kristina Boling-Smith (Eric Smith), Yohanan Qwaii, Isaiah Griffin, and her grandson Langston Smith. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Roger Boling and baby sister Lisa.

Karen graduated from Harry Hill High School and then worked as a custodian for 24 years for the Lansing School District. Karen worshiped at the Holmes Road Church of Christ.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 18th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, located at 900 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at 11:00am at Holmes Road Church of Christ, located at 321 E Holmes Rd, Lansing, MI 48910.
