Joyce Ann Ferris

Joyce was born on June 15, 1941, the daughter of J.H. Collett and Lucy May Rockwell. She graduated from Eastern High School. Before family became her life, Joyce was a cleaner for Sparrow Hospital.

Joyce married her love, Timothy Allen Ferris in Lansing, MI on April 11, 1965 and began her family shortly after.

Joyce loved volunteering and cooking for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved baking and anything with dark chocolate. The spring was Joyce's favorite. Seeing the lilacs, roses, and tulips bloom made her most happy. She adored the bright colors that spring brought. In the winter, you could find her with a cup of tea in front of a warm fireplace, preferably, in a log cabin. Christmas was a big part of Joyce's life, she loved a white Christmas and making Christmas cards. Joyce loved watching the cardinals out her window. When you heard Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, or any 50's music playing, you knew that Joyce was in control of the music. Her favorite trips were to Florida to visit her sister, Sandra Bouffard. Joyce adored the southern drawl. In her spare time, Joyce would spend hours playing bingo, bowling, and doing word search puzzles. She adored Shirley Temple and lounging around with cats. Joyce also loved hassling Tim with her latest home renovation ideas.

Left to celebrate Joyce's life is her husband, Tim; her daughters, Annette Ferris of MI, Sherry Ferris of MI, and Lorie White of MI; her granddaughter, Erica Ferris of MI; sister, Janet Graham of Florida; brothers, Bob (Joan) Collett of Florida, Rick Collett of Arizona, Gary (Debbie) Collett of MI, Doug (Lynn) Collett of Florida, Craig (Terri) Collett of California, and Mark (Megan) Collett of Oregon; and many other loved ones.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, J.H. Collett in 1973 and Lucy Rockwell in 1999; and her sister, Sandra Bouffard in 2021.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. A visitation will occur Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 19, 2022 from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1709 E Mt Hope Ave, Lansing, MI 48910. A celebration of life will be held following the service at the Lansing Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3022 West St. Joe St., Lansing, MI 48917.
