My condolences to the Duda family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. John was a dear friend, having worked with him in Sociology, attending some social events with him, and sharing conversations regarding his dancing performances, back in the early ‘90s, and love he had for his young niece at that time. Will miss him dearly. May he R.I.P.

Oh, my heart is in shock and numb still over the news. John was my neighbor of 8 years. He lived above me at Hickory Hill Condominiums. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I would have attended services, but sadly I didn't hear about dates and times until services had ended. May his memory be a blessing. Prayers and condolences to all his loved ones and friends, including our hickory hill community who will definitely be impacted by his passing. RIP John. 

So sad and shocked by John's passing. He was a very kind man, always having a smile on his face when I saw him in the sociology department.  I will miss him . Condolences to his family.

John was one of the kindest and funniest people I met in the Sociology Department. He always made me feel welcome when I had a question or concern, and was always lively. I remember him and I discussing how he very much preferred thin crust Cottage Inn, as opposed to round, whenever I would order pizza for the Sociology Association. My condolences to his family and friends.

I knew John through MSU. He was always a pleasure to see; a bright, playful soul. We loved to share the latest gossip. He was always helpful and a good advocate for students. I knew he was thrilled for the next chapter of his life and thus he left us too soon; he loved spending time with his nieces. RIP. My condolences to the family and his close friends.

To John's family...So sorry for your loss.  Thinking of you at this very difficult time.  I knew John when I worked in Lansing more than 15 years ago at Fox 47.  He was a caring, kind person, and I'm so glad I got to know him for such a short time.  I will cherish his memory and contagious laugh.

I met John through the dance circuit, and I enjoyed watchin him perform.  A talented, humorous man.  He always made me smile and laugh! Rest in peace John. 

I remember John's love of dance and kind presence in the Sociology Department. He loved to chat and was one of the first people in the department to learn new student's names and interests. Likewise, he proudly displayed his interests on his desk: his love of dance and pictures of his family. 

John was a talented and artistic dancer and photographer. He excelled at organizing events and celebrations for the department. He welcomed people into his life, shared his interests, had a wonderful sense of humor and took great pleasure in making new friends. 

What I will hold in my heart is, Johns genuine love for life and people,  his creativity, his choreography, his love of dance, and most of all his smile.

I had danced with John in many shows over a long period of time.  I always looked up to his talent and professionalism.  He was also a very talented artist and a fun friend to hang out with.  Such a sudden and surprising loss of such a talented man.  He will be missed by many but will not be forgotten.

John worked at MSU’s Sociology Program during my time as a grad student there. I will always remember his love for dance, our conversations, his intention to travel to South America, and his questions about it,  I am very sorry for his passing. 

John and I worked at the same College at MSU. I will always remember his smile and sense of humor. If you needed a shoulder, he was always there for you.  This earth lost a kind soul and heaven gained a sweet angel. Will miss you dear friend.  Pam 



I am filled with sadness today. You will be missed John. 

I had the pleasure of working with John in the Department of Sociology.  John made the hard days easier with his sense of humor and wit.  He loved to dance and would keep photos of his dancing days at his desk.  He would always lighten the mood by sticking tape to his face and making himself look ridiculous!  That's just the kind of person he was...and I loved him for that!  Fly high with your beautiful new wings.

I am so sad to learn of John’s death on Wednesday. He was a kind and generous soul, who always had a smile and a friendly hello for everyone he met.  His sweet nature will be sorely missed. 

Laughter. Lots of laughter. Even though our occasional conversations at the office were brief, they always embodied a great deal of humor.  Both born in 1959, both Spartans and both of us self-identified as "hams", our styles clicked and we would end up entertaining each other with silly voices, acted out little scenes and funny daily stories as we switched shifts. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to know John and it gives me great sorrow to have one less beautiful shining soul in my life.  May his family find comfort in knowing that he brightened every day that I saw him.

 I will remember you always from the days at Lansing Community College in the Performing and Creative Arts Department when I was a Clerical Aide and you a dancer.   I loved watching you perform on the stage at Dart Auditorium.   I imagine you are dancing your greatest Ballet in Heaven.   Afterwards, we met again and I had the pleasure of working with you at MSU in the same College.    I am thankful for the friendship we had.  Prayers for your family Johnny.  Peace be with you.

I knew John from working with him in the Department of Sociology, and I kept in contact with him after we both had left.  I talked to him about a month ago and we both giggled on the phone for almost an hour.  John always had a laugh and a smile for anyone he met and he helped to brighten everyone's day.  I can remember going into work and if you were sad, he would make you laugh and feel better.   I will miss him dearly and he was a good soul.  Heaven just gained a beautiful angel with the warmest of hearts.  I will miss you dearly my friend.

I had the great pleasure of working with John for five years!  There are many things I will remember about John, but perhaps most of all was his passion for the arts and his love of mirth!  Heaven has received a most gentle soul!

Saddened to learn of John's passing.  I only knew him from work, but I always found him pleasant and helpful. My deepest condolences to his family.
