Jerry, a loving father and husband, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 10, 2021. Jerry was born to Clyal O. and Josephine M. Dean (Hickey) March 16, 1934 in Lansing, MI. He was a 1952 graduate of Everett High School. He became a licensed minister in 1970 and became a born-again Christian on August 26, 1962 at Miller Road Bible Church.
He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his boys in their early years. He also liked tinkering with woodworking, enjoyed Bible teaching, and loved listening to southern gospel music. He was a retired mechanic and currently a parts truck driver for Dean Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Dean. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sally Jo; daughter, Alma Jo VanWinkle; sons, Paul Dean and Bert (Kathy) Dean; and step-daughter, Sandra (Joe) Anson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.
