Douglas James Kinney, 63 of Lansing, MI was born April 12, 1959 to Robert and Shirley Kinney and passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Douglas was a jack of all trades and into anything outdoors. He especially loved to fish and would take a trip up to Canada for one week every year to explore all the great fishing spots. Douglas was also a very tech-savvy man and even started his own IT Company in 2009. There was nothing Douglas loved more than his family. He will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew him.
Douglas was the beloved husband of Debra Kinney (nee Schairer); loving father of James (Stephanie) Kinney and Melissa (Brandon) Witmer; cherished grandfather of Audrey Kinney and Beckett Kinney; dear brother of Allan (Kathy) Kinney, Timothy (Denise) Kinney, Stephen (Genie) Kinney, Jan (Merle) Ayers, Joseph (Elizabeth) Kinney, Sheryl (Michael) Nelson and Carol (Stephen) Cressler; fond uncle of 21 nieces and nephews; son-in-law of Donald Schairer; and brother-in-law of Mark Schairer
A visitation will be held Monday September 12 from 6PM to 8PM at Maranatha Baptist Church 2300 N Waverly Rd Lansing, MI 48906. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 13 at 11AM with a visitation one hour prior at Maranatha Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp CoBeAc, City Rescue Mission of Lansing or Missions Fund at Maranatha.
