After high school he attended Lansing Community College and earned an Associate degree in General Studies.
While at LCC David met another student, Linda Lorraine Ray, and they fell in love. David and Linda were married February 15, 1986 in Eaton Rapids and made their home in Lansing. David was employed in custodial and retail positions most of his working years. In the fall of 2010 he suffered a major CVA (stroke) that left him with disabilities.
