Age 64, our loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend was call unexpectedly home to his Lord on August 4, 2019. Born April 22, 1955 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. David began at the Lewis Cass Building and later moved to the Michigan Capitol Building where he operated the Concession Stand for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral; the Lansing 3000 Blind Bowling League; and the Mason Holt Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3734. He loved camping, and stopping into Biggby Coffee for a Teddy Bear latte to enjoy.
Surviving are his sister, Linda (Edward) Sims; niece, Skye; nephew, Justin; brother-in-law, Marshall Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and many friends; and his pet cat, Felix. David was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma & Frank Bigelow; brother, Michael Bigelow.
Visitation is from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, Aug. 12, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour Ave., Lansing with Fr. Karl Pung presiding. Viewing will be from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at church. Rite of committal will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Aug 14, at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell, Michigan. Contributions in memory of David may be made to Ingham County Animal Shelter.
